PHYSICAL EXAMINATION PROCESS.

You’ll need to have a complete physical exam (including hearing and eye exams) as part of your application. But if you’re worried about having to take your exam at your local MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station), we have good news. Now you may have that exam at any of more than 400 contracted facilities nationwide. You’ll likely find this to be a much more convenient, pleasant and faster experience. And, of course, the Army Reserve pays for the P.E.

The P.E. Process:

  • You provide several dates of availability to our recruiter and the location you prefer to have your exam.
  • Your recruiter will contact the facility and schedule the appointment – then communicate that information back to you.
  • You show up on time at the facility and have the exam.
  • Once the physical, hearing and eye exams have been completed, the facility will send the results to the Army Reserve Command at Fort Knox. Within about 2 weeks, your recruiter will be in touch with you with your results.
  • Sometimes results from the physical exam may require additional tests or second opinions. If so, you may be asked to return to the facility for more testing or to see a specialist. In some cases, you may be allowed to choose the specialist.
